Hi My name is Angeline and I started Baba Boom Music and Drama in January 2006. I am a working mummy and have four lovely children of my own. I love my job and I get the best of both worlds!! |
| I left school in 1987 and worked in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama before moving to London to work as a Nanny. This is where my career with children began. I went onto live and work in Dublin and completed a Montessori Early Years Teaching Programme. (1989). I lived in Europe and London before moving back to Scotland. I have attended several Early Years Courses in Music and Drama. I have gained an HNC in Music Business and Promotion (2000) and most recently I have completed the Kindermusik Training Program and I am a Licensed Kindermusik Educator (2006) |
| In my years of childcare I have worked with bright, loveable children aged from Birth - onwards. I have seen how receptive young children are to music and although I do not formally hold a musical performance qualification, I have combined my love of music and creativity together with all my childcare experience to plan suitable activities that introduce Babies right from Birth and Toddlers to the wonderful world of music. I have researched Early Music Education and devised a programme of exciting activities that create fun sessions. They are child centred, involve the parents and most of all are educational and stimulating, offering a structured musical playtime. While your child thinks they are having fun they are actually learning about beat, rhythm, tempo and enhancing all areas of their brain development. |
| The classes are designed for the children and repetition is important for increasing their confidence as they become familiar with routines and settle into and enjoy the classes. |
| My love of travel and cultures reflect in the different music that I offer in the classes. From upbeat versions of children’s songs we already know and love, your child will also hear world music. This could be anything from Latin Samba, African Beats, Caribbean Calypso to Jazz, Classical or Blues. Songs sung in different languages are all beneficial to young children as they listen to the different patterns and rhythms of words. So you might be catching bubbles to Jazz or Swinging Around the World! Whatever the mood, everyone is guaranteed to have a great time. |
 |
| Knowing how much I am contributing into babies and toddlers lives through my music class and seeing the response and progress right in front of my eyes, my enthusiasm and confidence just keeps growing. By taking their lead I will always be grateful for being given the opportunity to contribute something so positive into their lives. |
| Please read on to find out about the different classes that I offer and all the benefits of being in the musical environment. |
| When introducing young children to percussion for the first time it is important for me to make the experience of sound and texture as natural as possible. |
At Baba Boom your child can explore ethically made wooden percussion instruments that produce an original musical sound and are designed in attractive colour for little hands to play! This will provide your child with the best possible experience in musical learning. |
